I've previously written about the organisation, Skateistan, which is an NGO providing skateboarding and educational programming in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Pakistan. I have nothing but the sincerest respect and deep appreciation for the remarkable work Skateistan does for the youth in those three countries, and therefore it was with a breaking heart that I read about the tragic loss of Skateistan youth. Read the report here:
These kids were role models, and heroes to their peers. They were inspirational and I am so very deeply saddened that our world has been deprived of their motivation, their vision and yes, their inspiration. My heart goes out to the entire Skateistan family, team, crew, all the volunteers and especially to the family and friends of the children.
I have proudly supported Skateistan, and will proudly continue in the future. I can only encourage others to do so, at the very least, read about the work Skateistan does, maybe visit their webshop, spread the word and the support & maybe even have a fundraiser at your school? No help is too small or insignificant.
Take good care of one another, we're all in this world together.
My interests besides photography include; Nature, surfing, marine biology & conservation, reading, all things & activities ocean related and travelling all over this incredible planet.
